2019 Photo of the Week – 02
I’ve been a little surprised this winter at the lack of birds I’ve been seeing. I’m not sure if it’s because the winter has been so mild or what the reason might be but I’ve definitely noticed a lack of birds to my feeders as has another bird photographer I’ve talked to recently. I’ve taken a few photo walks to parks where I normally see many birds or have heard of many bird sightings but no luck. Yesterday, I decided to go back to Meijer Gardens late in the afternoon. This is one of the places I went a few weeks ago and struck out but yesterday, the Chickadees and Cardinals were abundant. I usually see the birds in the middle of the children’s garden. There are many trees and shrubs, a small stream, and cattails. This little Chickadee was spending a lot of time pecking at this old cattail. I’m not sure what he was after or what he was using the material for. If you have an idea, leave a comment below. I hope you enjoy my 2019 Photo of the Week – Week 2.
