2019 Photo of the Week – 38

Fall Hummingbird

The first day of fall is only a couple days away and we’re still having a fairly steady stream of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds.  We’re only seeing the females now as I think the males have all headed south already. This female was not bothered by me sitting on my deck only 8′ away from our Lantana planters.  She only flew away when another female buzzed in and scared her away. I’ve seen lots of photos online of numerous hummingbirds all around a single feeder at the same time. I have never experienced that here. Have you? If so, leave a comment below. I’m sure these little beauties will be gone soon and I’ll be looking forward to their return next May. Safe travels little ladies. I hope you enjoy my 2019 Photo of the Week – Week 38.
